Betye Saar uses
historical photographs and portraits of African Americans and
combines the sepia-toned prints with other artifacts and
imagery. In turn, her work conveys themes of love and family and
comments on the legacy of race in America.

The longest
running high school theater festival in the country, with more than
1,000 students from about 65 schools performing monologues, one-act
plays, and two-person scenes. The festival also features student written
and directed plays.

Close to 100,000 asparagus fans are expected for this annual,
